efficiency, indoor environmental quality and building security. The National Center also
seeks to identify new research needs. |

Technology Assessment and Application |
The National Center monitors, sponsors, tests, promotes, publishes
findings, and establishes cost benefit information for new
or existing HVAC technologies and building systems to improve energy
efficiency and indoor environmental quality. The National Center seeks
to promote acceptable HVAC industry consensus standards on new or
existing technologies. |

Commercial Market Analysis |
The National Center undertakes and coordinates market and economic
analysis of new and emerging energy efficiency and indoor environmental
quality technologies, HVAC systems, and designs for both the domestic
and international markets. |

Training and Employment |
The National Center identifies, designs and delivers training curriculum
to enable skilled workers to install, maintain, and operate the new
HVAC systems, devices and technologies. The National Center also tracks
development of new occupational and employment opportunities. |

Public and Professional Education |
The National Center designs, sponsors and promotes educational information
to the consuming public; provides information and training to design
and engineering professionals about the design, application and use
of new HVAC technologies; and maintains an information clearinghouse
and virtual library on energy efficiency and indoor environmental
quality issues. |

Public Policy Analysis |
The National Center identifies, sponsors, and conducts public policy
studies and analyses on economic, social and political issues associated
with energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality.
